Bonjour !

I am Willie Stark, born and raised in Paris from Uganda, Kampala, and I work as a performing artist, choreographer, dancer, artistic director and curator focusing on Urban, African and Contemporary dance technics. Across various collaborations, I developed transdisciplinary projects between movement, sound and music, making the disciplines dance among themselves and with each other. I danced in performances that were produced by HAU Hebbel am Ufer Theater, FFT Düsseldorf, Tanzhaus NRW, Renegade Pottporus, Philarmonique Liege, BOZAR Bruxelles, Pact Zolleverein, Ringlokschuppen Ruhr. There, I had the possibility to deepen more into the contemporary dance field and to work and perform pieces of prominent choreographers. In the last 4 years, I was not only been able to consolidate my choreographic signature, but also to develop it into an idiosyncratic form of expression with my own productions: Exotiques, Wombs of revolution, Louves, Le bal des masques, and Précieuses. I was also part of the curation team of Fusion Dance Battle in Focus Tanz 8 in Kampnagel Hamburg.

Know as a cultural artist and entrepreneur, I became one of the most influential figure in the House dance scene.

In addition to my performative work, I traveled to give lectures, workshops and coach several artists and dancers across Europe.
And finally, my passion for working as a background dancer, brought me in tour with the band Gato Preto in 2019. As a dancer and choreographer, I worked closely with the group and managed the choreographic design of the show.
